Why do this? - To help people who have developed a phobia for dates

The idea is to help people who have got so scraed of false prophecies of doomsday, that even if a random stranger logs into twitter and types

"The world will end on 1st April 2001"

(deliberately chose a date in the past)

they immediately start to wonder

"What if they are right?"

There are members of the Doomsday Debunked facebook group and others I've helped via PM who are scared of any date, however silly. They say that they know it is silly, but can't help it. I think they get "primed" to be scared of dates. Even if it is nonsense.

So the idea is - a bit like treating a phobia - maybe it can be "innoculated" against by exposing you to lots of future dates, with rather silly scenarios, sometimes supposed doomsdays, sometimes weather or cute kitties - then maybe that can help you get over this unreasoning fear of dates.

It's not something you can fix with reason, they just are scared without knowing why. So the idea was to try another tack. To make a page where they can generate the dates themselves. And just overload with these fake dates.
