Hmmm. Sorry if I'm beating (no pun intended) a dead horse, but didn't Kirnberger say that Bach tuned with all Major 3rds sharp, but none Pythagorean? Mind you, I like the Kellner temperament - a local organ is tuned in it - but I just wonder if one of Neidhardt's temperaments is more what Bach had in mind (if Kirnberger is right - odd that K himself devised temperaments which didn't fit this description). - Tim Tikker Received: from eartha.mills.edu [144.91.3.20] by vbv40.ezh.nl with SMTP-OpenVMS via TCP/IP; Fri, 3 Nov 1995 14:13 +0100 Received: from by eartha.mills.edu via SMTP (940816.SGI.8.6.9/930416.SGI) for id EAA16910; Fri, 3 Nov 1995 04:13:09 -0800 Date: Fri, 3 Nov 1995 04:13:09 -0800 Message-Id: <199511031212.EAA16780@eartha.mills.edu> Errors-To: madole@ella.mills.edu Reply-To: tuning@eartha.mills.edu Originator: tuning@eartha.mills.edu Sender: tuning@eartha.mills.edu
