source file: mills2.txt Date: Thu, 8 Feb 1996 13:08:18 -0800 Subject: Mixed Non/Traditional Progression in 88CET From: Gary Morrison <71670.2576@compuserve.com> I was just doodling around a bit, and came up on an interesting choralish 88CET chord progression some of you might find fun to doodle around with further. It moves smoothly between traditional harmony, to thorougly nontraditional, and ends up nearly traditional. Unless otherwise noted, there are no large gaps between notes. In other words, to reconstruct it, start at the soprano note, and proceed down to the next lower note of the letter name in the alto part, and so forth: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Meas. Beat S A T B Notes: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PkUp 4 D D D E Sop. D is second-line treble, Alto & Tenor D is space below staff 1 1 C# D D F 2 " " " " 3 D " " " 4 C# " " " 2 1 D E E F 2 " " " " 3 C# D D F 4 " " " " 3 1 D E E F 2 " " " " 3 " F D " 4 " E E " 4 1 D F D F 2 " " " " 3 D F# C# F 4 " " " " 5 1 D F D F 2 " F# C# " 3 " " C " 4 " " B " 6 1 D# F# Bb C 2 " " " " 3 " G " " 4 " A " " 7 1 F Bb Bb C# Alto Bb is 3-line treble, Tenor Bb is above the bass staff 2 " " " " 3 " " " " 4 " " " " 8 1 G A B C 2 " " " " 3 " " " " 4 " " " " ---------------------------------------------------------------------- My kingdom (as if I had one) for an ASCII-text-capable notation system! (Gag!) If any of you aren't familiar with my 88CET note nomenclature, and are interested, lemme know and I'll explain it.
