The Hendrix debate is fascinating, especially when one considers 
that he was a man who had a great natural gift, and played totally by 
ear, with little technical knowledge of what he was doing (Miles Davis's 
remembrances of Hendrix in his autobiography are worth reading). It 
points out that the intellect is secondary when it comes to producing
