This is for the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth which you can find on many modern computers either instead of or as well as a normal soundcard.

It's instruments are reasonable enough, based on the Roland Sound Canvas, but the latency is usually terrible, about a tenth of a second. You notice it if you play it from the PC keyboard or mouse or a music keybard.

However you can reduce the latency to be much more acceptable if you play it through DirectMusic Producer.
