This complements the help for Tune Smithy

The FAQ section is nearly up to date and is already better than the FAQ included with the program.

The other sections - Tutorials and Main Tasks section have just begun. Check back again in a few weeks to see how they develop.

How can I help

You are very welcome to join to help build the content and help other users of the software. One way you can help right now is with tutorials or answers to FAQ - to help other users to do things that you have learnt to use FTS to do.

Later on when the old help is ported over to FTS then you can help with anything. Right now the site is probably going to change a few times before it reaches its final form so if you want to help with some particular area it may be best to contact me first.

It will take a long time to port the old help over to the new wiki - I expect a week or two minimum. You can help speed it up by fixing anything obvious you see as you read - like broken urls, typos and obvious errors, as that takes a surprising amount of time.

Please see How can I help? for details of things you can do to help right now.

If you don't have much time, please just do whatever you can or feel inclined to do. Every little bit will help. There are lots of users of FTS - especially counting all the freeware / casual users. A little help from some of you would make a huge difference, and it might go quite quickly.

If you have any questions at all about how you can help, just contact me,

Adding pages about yourself and your projects

You may want to add a page here about yourself - to do that, you need to log in, then edit your user page (click on your user name at the top of any page to get to your user page).

You can link to your user page on any pages you add about projects in the Member Projects page - or other suitable places, also if you sign discussions on the discussion pages for any of the articles, your signature takes the reader to your user page.

You can also add pages about your own projects (e.g. CDs or whatever) using Tune Smithy. Add them to the Member projects page. However be aware that by adding material here you give permission for it to be included with the help for Tune Smithy users, e.g. on CD or DVD or maybe a large download installer.

If you wish it to be used more restrictively - I have plans to do a separate wiki for member's projects at some point. Or just include some extracts from your music, and a link to an external web page which the user can visit to buy the CD, download the music etc.

How to remove the ? from the urls, e.g. for automatic translation

You will notice that the urls of this web site have the form ...?title=...

Sometimes you need a url without a ? - e.g. for automatic translation

To do that remove the ? and add .htm at the end like this:

So for instance to translate this page into Spanish using babelfish, visit:
