# info | ../info/add_to_tree.html | Show tree |
Visit this page, and fill in the fields.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tuning/database?method=addRecord&tbl=4
Or from the database page, click on FAQ tree, then Add record.
When finished, click Save Record.
You need to give a url for your file, so it needs to be somewhere where it can be located on the www.
The tuning group faq folder will do just fine - upload your file to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tuning/files/faq
then take a note of the url as it appears in the browser location bar.
Make sure your file name has no spaces - url encoded spaces confuse the tree applet.
You can replace spaces by underlines:
cents_to_from_ratios.html
For the parent folder, give the folder you want your entry to appear in in the tree, either one that is already there, or a new one.
For the short description, give the name you want it to be labelled with on the tree.
You also need to give the author, and say whether it is suitable for conversion to ascii.
It will make a new folder for you automatically, if needed, and place it at the top level of the tree.
To place your folder somewhere else in the tree, you need to say where you want it moved to:
Notations | Half flats and half sharps
(leave url field blank)
This creates a new folder called Half flats and half sharps in the Notations folder, which then anyone can use as the parent folder for their entries.
You won't see a change immediately - new entries in the database are added to the tree when it is next refreshed, i.e. when the program is next run to automatically generate it.
This is especially useful if you want to add several new entries at once. It is also faster even for a single entry.
Make sure you have a ; at the end of each field, and no other semicolons. Then put on a single line:
Cents to from ratios; Cents to ratios and back again; homepage.ntlworld.com/robertwalker/tree/cents_to_from_ratios.htm; Robert Walker
To add several entries at once, repeat this for as many entries as you want to add.
Choose a ; as the delimiter for the Import Records.
Then import them using Import Records for the FAQ_tree database
