The horizon is closer so you would see your companions disappear below it if they walk far enough away on a flat plain. It's a bit like ships at sea - we see them disappear below the horizon - well on the Moon that horizon would be a bit closer if you can find a nice flat plain to stand in for the sea.

It's quite easy to work out the distance to the horizon:

He works out that for Earth you can see 4.66 km, on Mars 3.40 km , and on the Moon,  2.43 km.

And has a photograph comparing what the horizon looks like on all three places. On the Moon the horizon would be noticeably closer.

I think that's the main thing you'd notice.

If someone walked 5 km away from you on a flat plain, they'd disappear from view below the horizon. On Earth that's more like 10 kms.
