Yes I think you should answer, if you've got something to add that nobody has said yet.

But, it's good to check the sources carefully as sometimes newspapers make mistakes so is worth following it back a bit - for a question like that, likely to be plenty of reliable sources and often a newspaper article will say something about the source also.

However, I wouldn't add an answer saying something like that if it's already been answered more fully, saying essentially the same thing. Instead just upvote the existing answer, unless I've got something to add or a different slant on it or some such.

I think that's the main etiquette thing I'm aware of, occasionally you find questions with lots of people just saying the same thing in different words, especially if it is just a factual question like that, then that's not really helping anyone much to do that.
