The Moon is a big place. It's larger than Europe and North America combined. It's a bit like landing in Paris and saying you can't see Central Park in New York. And if you were as close as 3 kms away from the landing site - or even closer with uneven terrain, you wouldn't see them. How far can you see?

As for the garment - this is an under garment. For one thing, there's no helmet. It's lacking the cooling system, not able to hold in any pressure, and of course, the boots.
